Dealing With Hard Hands In Blackjack

The kind of decisions that you will be making in blackjack is mostly done based on what you are actually holding in your pockets.

When it comes to dealing with hard hands when you are having an 8, regardless of what the dealer’s upcard is showing up you can continue ahead with making a hit. Because the maximum value that you will draw by this way is 10. Since 10 + 8 = 18, you are not going to go busted.

When you are having a 9 try a double up if the dealer has numbers 3 through 6, else you can simply hit. Because the maximum value that you will draw by this way is 10. Since 10 + 9 = 19, you are not going to go busted. Even if the dealer has a 10 in the down card for the third card draw even if the dealer gets a 10 then chances are that he will go bust unless he gets a low card value in the third draw so you can try ahead with a third card draw.

Consider playing a double up in casino blackjack when you feel the conditions are most appropriate.

When you are having a 10 try a double up if the dealer has numbers 2 through 9, else you can simply hit.

When you are having a number 11 and if the dealer’s upcard is showing numbers 2 to 10 you can make a double. When you are having 11, you can consider hitting if the dealer is having an Ace.

When you are having a number 12 and if the dealer’s upcard is showing numbers 2 or 3 you can make a draw. When you are having 12 if the dealer is going to have numbers 4 through 6 you can stand, if not you can hit.

When you are holding values 13 to 16 and if the hand of the dealer is showing up 2 through 6, you can consider standing, if not you can consider hitting.

When you are holding numbers 17 to 21 regardless of what the dealer is having you have to simply consider standing because another draw is most likely to have you busted unless you are lucky to get an Ace.

Rather than simply following what has been said above you got to think about why such decision making is recommended. Think what is the highest and lowest card a dealer might have or draw? Also think on what is the highest and lowest card that you will land up drawing and compare the possibilities and look in to the scope of your decisions and then make your play.
